Stealth Mount is a highly customizable product to best fit your vehicle and your detector. The number of customizations might make the ordering process seem complicated but this article will help you get through it in a breeze.
Detector Make and Model
In this option you will simply select the type of detector you have and wish to use with Stealth Mount.
Mount Type
Stealth Mount is offered with three different mounts.
Mirror Mount
Mirror mount allows you to mount your detector to the rear view mirror. This option offers great visibility and accessibility to the driver.
Your vehicle need to have a round rear view mirror stem to be able to use this mount. You will need to measure the diameter of your mirror stem ahead of ordering and provide the measurement in the order notes during checkout. Please see the guide here on how to measure the diameter.
VHB Mount
VHB mount uses a 3M’s revolutionary double sided tape to mount your detector to the windshield or plastic surfaces. This option offers flexibility as you can mount it to any glass or plastic surface.
Due to the strength of the tape this is a pretty permanent solution so choose the location of your mount wisely before you commit.
Windshield Mount
Windshield Mount is the simplest to install of the three mounts we offer. It comes with a large suction cup that offers a strong connection to your windshield. This option offers you great flexibility as you can mount the detector anywhere on your windshield, remove it and reinstall it as needed.
The downside of the windshield mount is that it is bulkier than the other options and looks more temporary. Also even though the large suction cup offers a strong connection that is way superior to the smaller ones normally shipped with detectors, it can still come off during hot days or after long deployment.

Stealth Mount is offered with 3 different electrical connection types.
RJ11
If your car is already wired for a radar detector then this is the simplest option for you. The mount will come with an RJ11 socket to connect your existing RJ11 plug into
Pin Connector
This option offers you those very thin pins that are able to slide in the back of any existing plug in your vehicle and get wedged between the the crimp terminal and the housing of the plug.
Add a fuse
Add a fuse allows you to wire your detector directly to your vehicle fuse box. it works by replacing a factory fuse with the connector which has two fuse positions. One for the original factory fuse you just removed and the other for the radar detector circuit.
You will need to provide us with the fuse type used in your vehicle in the checkout notes. We offer Standard, Low Profile Mini, Mini, and Micro 2 fuse taps (Please see picture for reference on which fuse type you have).
When you select the add a fuse option you will receive a cable length of your choosing with the add a fuse on one end and an RJ11 connector on the other end. Your Stealth Mount dock will come with an RJ11 connector and 3″ cable. This will allow you to easily remove the dock if you ever change your car without having to strip the interior back out to retrieve the cable.
Cable Length
Stealth Mount is offered with 5 different cable lengths to fit your installation requirement. Measure the distance of where you are planning to install your detector to where you are planning to connect it to power and select the size closest to what you need (having more cable is better than having less). You can use a small rope or string to help you with the measurement.
The RJ11 option would normally come with 3 in cable since your current RJ11 connector is normally where you want to mount the detector. However you can select any cable length you need.
The add a fuse option normally requires a long length of cable so make sure to select 12ft to account for any needed routing.
